The younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.

Identified as Adura, he was taken into custody alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White, shortly after attending a legal proceeding concerning a phone he had sold to one Damola Ayinde.

Earlier reports indicated that Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, had clashed with actor Yomi Fabiyi in January over allegations against Adura. Fabiyi had previously filed a petition on December 13, 2024, accusing Adura of initiating an Instagram chat in which he allegedly claimed to possess video evidence of Mohbad’s death and demanded ₦3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for the footage.

However, Adura denied the allegations, stating that the conversation originated from Ayinde, to whom he had sold his phone. A forensic investigation was subsequently conducted, and the court is still reviewing the case.

Following the arrest, a viral video surfaced showing Abosede in distress, pleading for help to locate her son. In the video, she was heard crying inside a vehicle, saying, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. He asked them to take my son away. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you.”

In December, Adura had demanded a public apology from Fabiyi, Ayinde, and others, accusing them of hacking his TikTok account to damage his reputation. He also filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against them for defamation, tampering with evidence, and making fraudulent claims against him.

A family member, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that Adura’s friend Koleosho was arrested after the court proceedings.

“We don’t know the whereabouts of Adura, but I can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today. Everything just happened suddenly. We learnt there has been some exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the issue relating to the phone and this may have led to the arrest. We don’t know where the security men came from, but we have been trying to locate their whereabouts.”

Efforts to reach Fabiyi for comments were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls or text messages.

A police source confirmed that the arrests were carried out by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos.

“Yes, they were arrested by the police operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, not men of the Lagos State Command,” the source said.

When asked about the reason for the arrest, the source directed inquiries to the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma. However, as of the time of this report, she had not responded to calls or messages.
