France talisman Kylian Mbappe has dismissed the achievement of scoring 400 career goals, maintaining that he has far greater objectives in football history.
According to Fabrizio Romano on Friday, Mbappe stated, “400 goals do not impress people. I want to leave my stamp on football history, so I need to score at least 400 more.”
The 26-year-old forward referred to all-time greats, citing players with over 900 goals, adding that only hitting 400 is insufficient to be among the top who continue to wow spectators.
“There is one with 950+ goals and another with 900+. 400 isn’t enough to stay in the circle of players who shock people,” he added, highlighting his drive to reach legendary status.
Mbappé’s statements highlight his unwavering ambition, as he continues to chase both individual and team records, hoping to cement his place among football’s greatest players.
Mbappe scored twice as France defeated Ukraine 4-0 in their World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
