Governor Seyi Makinde is currently in a closed-door meeting with the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The two political figures were present at the location, according to a short video that Oyo Affairs posted on Wednesday.
In the video, Makinde was seen entering and greeting Kwankwaso and other guests.
“Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, is currently in a closed-door meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan,” the platform stated.
Details of the meeting were not disclosed at the time of filing this report.
This comes weeks after Makinde and former vice president Atiku Abubakar visited a previous military president’s uphill mansion in Minna, Niger State.
This visit was generally associated with early political talks prior to the general election in 2027.
Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport recently saw Kwankwaso return to Nigeria after what the NNPP referred to as “strategic international engagements” in India.
Kwankwaso’s homecoming also comes after news of a bill that was filed to the US Congress, naming him as one of the people who should be targeted for penalties due to alleged breaches of religious freedom in Nigeria.
