The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) chairman and Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, has been labelled a disgrace by a member of his party.

Alwan Hassan who was on Channels TV, Politics Today, said the direction the party is headed under his leadership is creating fear among members in the party.

“The present lack of direction and logjam in the All Progressives Congress is a clear attestation to the lack of capacity of the Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Gov. Mai Mala Buni,” he said.

Adding that, “With the shoddy manner the ward, local government and state congresses were conducted under Buni’s watch, and his inability to hold a convention despite the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari to that effect; it is clear that he is out to bury the APC.

    • How Buni convention delay cost APC three governors

Hassan then claimed that, “With the roles great politicians from northern Nigeria have played in the political evolution of Nigeria, the region must be terribly embarrassed with the national reputation Mai Mala Buni has garnered with his unrestrained incompetence.

He also stated that the Yobe governor has an ulterior motive against the ruling party.

“No doubt, Buni is out to kill the APC, and it would be unfortunate if every well meaning members and stakeholders of the party just sit and watch him bury the platform we all laboured to build.”
