Chelsea have revealed the squad number that new signing Liam Delap will be wearing the number 9 shirt after he completed a switch from relegated Ipswich City for around £30 million on Wednesday.
Delap signed a contract with the Blues until 2031 as the London club adds reinforcement to their forward position.
“The squad number Liam Delap will wear following his transfer to Chelsea has been confirmed,” the club said on its website.
“The striker, who scored 12 Premier League goals last season, will wear the Chelsea No.9 shirt.”
Chelsea also confirmed Cole Palmer will move to the No.10 shirt ahead of our 2025/26 campaign, starting from the FIFA Club World Cup.
Palmer, who has worn the No.20 shirt since signing from Manchester City in September 2023, will make the switch ahead of our participation in the US-based tournament and could wear 10 for the first time when the Blues face Los Angeles FC in Atlanta on June 16.
