The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed a bill that criminalises open grazing in the state.
The House also passed that state’s Value Added Tax (VAT) bill during its sitting on Thursday.
Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, after the passage of the bill, ordered the acting clerk, Olalekan Onafeko to convey a copy of the bill to the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his final approval.
The bills were passed unanimously by the lawmakers after they were read three times.
Honourable Obasa lauded the lawmakers for their commitment to the development of the state.
“I thank you all for this historic exercise,” the Speaker said.
The House which held separate public hearings on the bills on Wednesday was commended by stakeholders who expressed their support of the bill.
Lagos state will be the second southern state to criminalise open grazing in Nigeria.
