A former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has officially been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
He received his crown in the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan’s South-East Local Government Area.
The monarch, who previously got the traditional Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound in Oja’ba, Ibadan, is set to be formally presented with the staff and instrument of office by Governor Seyi Makinde in the ancient Mapo Hall.
It was gathered that Makinde cut short his annual leave on Thursday to personally attend his coronation.
It should be noted that Ladoja became Olubadan-designate upon the death of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who joined his ancestors on Monday, July 7, 2025.
