Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ahmad Bunkure, the newly appointed special adviser on works, who died on Wednesday in Egypt.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi DawakinTofa, announced Bunkure’s death on Wednesday.
Yusuf described Bunkure’s death as a tragic and irreplaceable loss to the state, his family, and the wider political community, and prayed for Allah’s mercy.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor said.
Bunkure was sworn in as special adviser on works the day before his death, which came as a surprise to many.
Condolences have been expressed by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, and members of the Kano State Government.
