Juventus secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Cagliari at the Unipol Domus, moving back into the Serie A top four.

Following their disappointing UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of PSV Eindhoven, the Bianconeri responded with a composed performance to keep their league ambitions alive.

Juve started brightly, creating an early opportunity when Weston McKennie sent a header over the bar. Their persistence soon paid off as Dušan Vlahović, making his first start in 2025, capitalized on a defensive error.

Michel Adopo’s misplaced back pass to Yerry Mina allowed the Serbian forward to muscle past the defender, round goalkeeper Elia Caprile, and slot the ball into an empty net.

Despite taking the lead, Juventus had to stay alert. Caprile denied Kenan Yıldız and later thwarted a low Vlahović effort, while Cagliari’s best first-half chance came from Nadir Zortea, forcing a save from Michele Di Gregorio.

The second half saw fewer goal-scoring opportunities. Francisco Conceição fired over from distance, and Di Gregorio comfortably dealt with an Adopo header. Juventus maintained a structured defense, allowing Cagliari to dominate possession without posing significant threats.

Vlahović had a golden chance to double Juve’s lead late in the game when he found himself one-on-one with Caprile, but the goalkeeper made a crucial save. The visitors also felt they were denied a penalty when Sebastiano Luperto appeared to push Vlahović inside the box, but no foul was given.

Despite the narrow margin, Juventus managed the game well and saw out the win with relative ease. This victory boosts their hopes of securing Champions League qualification, while Cagliari, despite the loss, remain clear of the relegation zone, having lost just three of their last eight matches.
