Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber has opened up about his personal struggles with what he describes as “transactional relationships.”
Taking to Instagram, the singer expressed frustration over constantly feeling the need to earn affection from others—a dynamic he finds emotionally draining.
“I’m tired of transactional relationships. If I have to do something to be loved, that’s not love,” Bieber wrote.
He emphasised that genuine love should not come with conditions or expectations. A few weeks earlier, he had shared a similar sentiment in another Instagram story.
“Love isn’t a ‘you get what you put in’ kind of thing. It’s a receiving thing. True love is freely given with no expectation,” he posted in May.
Bieber’s recent posts have fuelled speculation about the state of his marriage to model Hailey Bieber. Some fans interpreted his statements as signs of a possible crisis.
However, in a May 20 interview with Vogue, Hailey addressed the rumours and dismissed talk of a looming divorce, calling the speculation a “mind-f*ck.”
