    Justice will prevail in Kolade Johnson’s shooting – Laolu Akande

    Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity has assured Nigerians that justice will prevail in the shooting of Kolade Johnson.

    Mr. Akande on Tuesday said the Federal Government will not condone the excesses of the Police Force.

    “This is to reassure all that justice will prevail in this matter. The suspect is already in custody and trial starts today,” Mr. Akande said in a tweet.

    He added that, “This administration will continue to work diligently on police reforms and excesses will not be condoned. It’s a promise. Again, condolences to Kolade’s family.”

    Earlier today, the police team led by Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu paid condolence visit to the family of Mr. Johnson.

    The Lagos police chief reassured the family that justice must prevail.

    On Monday, Mr Muazu promised to initiate far-reaching reforms to help in repositioning the Anti-Cultism Squad for effective service delivery, particularly in areas of respect for human rights and proficiency in the use of firearms.

    He urged members of the public who have complaints on the activities of the Anti-Cultism Squad or other police teams to call the following numbers – 08063299264, 08065154338 and 08060357795.
