The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the collation of results for the Anambra State governorship election from the 5,718 polling units across the state.

The coalition exercise is taking place at the commission’s headquarters in Awka, the state capital, under the supervision of the state Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie.

In her welcome address, the state’s Residential Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Queen Awgu, said, “This exercise is to declare the outcome of the election held on November 8, 2025.”

The procedure began hours after the fairly peaceful voting held throughout Anambra’s 21 local government areas concluded with results sorting and counting.

As of press time, INEC had uploaded more than 99% of election results to its Results Viewing Portal, despite numerous claims of vote-buying and other electoral violations.

Despite the early arrival of election materials in many polling locations, voter turnout was relatively low across the state, despite the fact that more people had obtained their Permanent Voter Cards in advance of the election.

Below is the breakdown of the results.
