The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Saturday, October 25, conduct a mock accreditation exercise in Anambra State to test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) ahead of the November governorship election.
The exercise is designed to assess the efficiency of the BVAS in authenticating voters and uploading results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal in real time.
The test will be carried out in selected polling units across six local government areas — Awka South, Idemili North, Oyi, Anambra East, Aguata, and Orumba North.
INEC said the mock accreditation would help evaluate the system’s response time and ensure seamless use during the main election.
The Commission urged voters in the selected areas to participate, noting that their involvement would help fine-tune the process.
Meanwhile, collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for newly registered voters will run from Wednesday, October 22, to Sunday, October 26. Eligible voters are advised to visit their original registration centres to pick up their cards.
