The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has decorated over 100 newly promoted officers in the Delta State Police Command, urging them to work harder in their new roles.

The decoration ceremony, held on Thursday at the Delta State Police Headquarters in Asaba, was performed on behalf of the IGP by the Commissioner of Police for the state, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi.

Addressing the officers, Egbetokun said, “We are all smiling and merry as the Command witnessed the decoration of newly promoted officers of the Command today. I want you to remember that the reward for hard work is more work, and therefore I advised you to put more effort while discharging your duties and ensure that you don’t disappoint the Inspector General of Police and the public.”

Prominent among the decorated officers were DCP Ado Ibrahim, previously the Assistant Commissioner of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID); ACP Sadiq M. Mana, formerly the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘A’ Division in Ughelli; and ACP Maiyaki Joyce Mathew, who was the DPO of Kwale Division before her promotion.

Also honored were CSP Obekpa Michael, the Admin Officer of the Department of Operations; CSP Omo-Uwuigbe Nosakhare, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad; and CSP Mohammed Balarabe Ibrahim, Commander of the Crack Squad, all serving in the Delta State Police Command.

The event also saw the promotion and decoration of officers advancing to the ranks of Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), marking a significant milestone in their careers.
