    Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting, with the Gunners pencilling in a medical for the 27-year-old. (Football Transfers)

    Arsenal made a move for Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha, 30, earlier this summer but were unable to agree a deal with Bayern Munich. (Bild – in German)
