    Gunmen kill UI Professor in Ibadan

    Opeyemi Isaac Ajewole, a professor at the University of Ibadan, has been assassinated by yet to be identified gunmen.

    It was gathered that the university don was slain on Monday night, 5th June, 2023, while coming to his residence at the Moniya area of Ibadan.

    Confirming his death, a friend of the deceased, Olukayode Ogunsanwo, stated that, “Yes. It is true. He was killed last night while returning home. They shot him and took his car. He was my friend,”

    Also confirming the murder, Joke Akinpelu, the Principal Assistant Registrar, Public Communications, at the University of Ibadan, stated that “He was killed yesterday. The incident happened yesterday. But we are not sure if it is armed robbers or hired assassins”.

    Until his death, Ajewole was a lecturer in the Department of Forest Resources Management of the university.
