    Gunmen invaded an estate in the Kuchiko Resettlement Development Area (KRDA) of Bwari Local Council of Abuja, abducting a resident.

    A resident of an estate in Kuchiko Resettlement Development Area (KRDA) of Bwari Local Council of  Abuja has been abducted by gunmen who stormed the area.

    According to reports, the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday in the area, popularly known as El-Rufai Estate.

    Chinedu, the victim, was taken from his home within the estate.

    Speaking to newsmen, his wife stated that the armed kidnappers abducted her husband after bursting over the fence to get access to their compound.

    “They shot sporadically in the air to scare our family members and neighbours before taking my husband away” she said.

    Mai Baba Bego, Chairman of the Kuchiko Resettlement Development Area, revealed that the recent occurrence upped the number of kidnapping instances in the area in the last few months to five.

    “We now live in fear as nobody knows who the next victim will be,” Baba Bego said.

    He demanded that security forces be deployed to the area to prevent further accidents.

    Josephine Adeh, the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, was unavailable for comment at the time this report was filed.
