The Champions League draw for the 2025/26 season has been made, and it has produced some intriguing fixtures for the six Premier League clubs playing.
During the league phase, the 36 clubs will play eight games against eight different opponents, four at home and four away.
The top eight teams will advance directly to the knockout stage of the Champions League, while the remaining 16 will compete in a playoff round.
The teams ranking 25th to 36th will be eliminated when the Champions League phase concludes in January.
The clubs that advance from the playoffs will join the top eight teams in the last 16.
The extended format, which was implemented for the first time last year, has resulted in some major battles amongst Europe’s top clubs.
Arsenal and Chelsea will play Bayern Munich, Manchester City will go to Real Madrid while Liverpool will host them, and Spurs will rejoin with PSG after their UEFA Super Cup defeat.
Newcastle United will also play the reigning champions away, and they will host Barcelona at St James’ Park in a rematch of their great 1997 meeting.
UEFA will publish the full Champions League fixture list with match dates and kick-off times no later than Saturday, 30 August.
