A group of suspected Fulani gunmen have reportedly killed two persons in Jankasa village, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday.
According to a resident of the village, Ayuba Musa, those who were injured during the attack have been taken to the hospital for medical care.
He said, “The attackers stormed the village at about 4:30pm on Sunday when people were relaxing. They started shooting sporadically as they entered the village in their large number.
“So far, l saw two dead bodies while others I could not ascertain their number were seriously injured and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.”
Jankasa village is close to Mallagum District where 38 villagers were massacred on September 26 by suspected Fulani terrorists in Madamai and Abun communities.
The Kaduna state police command was yet to confirm the incident at the time of filing this report.
The latest attack comes few days after an attack by bandits on a Kaduna-Abuja train.
Chronicle NG reported that the former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani escaped death on Thursday after his train was attacked by terrorists.
Sani revealed that the Kaduna-Abuja train in which he was traveling, ran into a segment of the tracks destroyed intentionally by terrorists on Wednesday.
According to the former lawmaker, the assailants opened fire on the engine driver and tank of the train.
The passengers miraculously escaped, he added.
Sani disclosed this in a tweet on Thursday.
“Yesterday, terrorists attacked the Kaduna-Abuja railway with an explosive and opened fire on the train, targeting the engine driver and the tank.
“This morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail track. It took a miracle for us to escape,” Sani tweeted.
