    Footballer Adeyemi Adewale dies after slumping during tournament in Osun

    The corpse of another woman, Princess Ochigbo, was found dead in the Kubwa district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

    The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the death of one Adeyemi Adewale while competing in a football tournament in Osogbo, the state capital.

    The deceased, an Ilesa West Local Government Area football player, was reportedly found unconscious on the pitch and transported to the hospital.

    It was also revealed that in the hospital where he was taken, a doctor verified his death.

    Yemisi Opalola, spokeswoman for the Osun Police Command, verified the event in a brief statement made available to journalists. The incident occurred on Thursday in Osogbo.

    The statement partly read, “Today, (Thursday), while the Adeleke Memorial Cup Final match was going on at the Ataoja School of Science, one Adeyemi Adewale ‘M’ 29 yrs., a player of the Ilesa West Football team, slumped on the pitch.

    “He was rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead by a doctor.”

    Opalola stated that an investigation had begun into the situation and that the deceased’s remains had been deposited at the Uniosun Teaching Hospital mortuary.
