Five farmers were reportedly killed in Modakeke, Osun state by unknown assailants on Friday morning.
It was gathered that the yet-to-be-identified persons were on their way to a farm in Toro when they were brutally murdered.
Details of the incident are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
However, reports say that there was tension between Ife and Modakeke residents over the incident.
The Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident. She added that security operatives had been seployed to the area to restore peace.
