Former Chelsea and Brazil player Oscar has been freed from the hospital after being treated last week for a heart condition.
The 34-year-old fell unwell during pre-season physical testing at São Paulo’s training center on Tuesday, requiring quick medical attention.
Chronicle NG had reported that Oscar was in a stable condition in the hospital after suffering a heart-related issue.
According to a statement released on Monday by Sao Paulo, Oscar left Einstein Hospital Israelita on Sunday after being “stable and clinically well” throughout his hospitalization.
“Extensive investigation carried out at the hospital confirmed that the player experienced an episode of vasovagal syncope,” it added.
Vasovagal syncope is a common type of fainting characterized by a sharp drop in blood pressure and heart rate.
According to the club, Oscar “will now follow a medical rest program for the next few days.”
Oscar began his career with Sao Paulo and returned to the club last year on a three-year contract that runs until 2027 after spending eight years playing in China.
