Everything will turn out fine for me, Joshua believes

Anthony Joshua, the former heavyweight champion, claims he is eager to get his career back on track ahead of his massive domestic battle with Dillian Whyte next month.

After losing to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022, the 33-year-old is aiming to regroup. He won again in April, defeating Jermaine Franklin, although his performance garnered criticism from fans and pundits alike.

After deciding to pair up with the American in Texas, Joshua decided to compete for the first time under new trainer Derrick James.

After failing to shine against Franklin, some have questioned if Joshua benefited from the change in surroundings.

The two-time world champion, on the other hand, is pleased with his current setup and believes he is doing everything right to return to the top of the heavyweight class.

“What’s beautiful about sports is there’s always a next opportunity to prove yourself, so no matter what happens, there’s a process that I’m following and I just know that if we look at history, everything will work out for me,” he said.

“I’ve just got to ride the wave, stay consistent, stay focused and when the opportunity presents itself… everyone can write you off, but if you believe in yourself and you continue on your journey, 100 per cent you will overcome. Only you can defeat yourself. Not anyone else.”

Joshua has gone nearly three years without a stoppage win after building a name for himself as a knockout artist in the early parts of his professional career.

There are questions about whether he still has the vengeance that allowed him to dominate boxing’s top division, but he believes he should not be written off just yet.
