It was a night of glitz and glamour as the 16th edition of the Headies award ceremony that celebrates Afrobeats and African music culture took place on Sunday at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.
The event, tagged ‘Celebrating African Renaissance,’ saw A-list artistes from the continent of Africa converge to celebrate the creativity of Pan-African talent, and the event honored the best in Afrobeats.
Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy added another award to his shelve as he bagged several awards, including Best Afrobeats Single of the Year with the song ‘Last Last’.
Other stars who shined at the award night themed ‘Celebrating African Renaissance include Asake, who won the highly-coveted ‘Next Rated’ award while also scoring the ‘Album of the Year’ category for ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’, and Rema.
