On the morning of Saturday, May 13, 2023, Nollywood was plunged into sadness following the death of veteran Yoruba actor Mukaila Adedigba, aka Sikiru Adeshina.
Kunle Iyiola Afod, a well-known Nollywood actor and film director, died in the early hours of the morning, according to his Instagram profile.
Nigerians were still in mourning for Adedigba when word broke that famous Nollywood actor Obinna Nwafor, often known as Saint Obi, had died at the age of 57 following a long illness.
Report said Saint Obi died on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the home of one of his siblings in Jos, Plateau State, but disagreement between his siblings delayed the announcement of his demise.

Afolabi reportedly died from injuries sustained from falling in his bathroom in the early hours of Sunday, May 14, 2023.
His colleague, Adekola Tijani, aka Kamilu, while speaking at his funeral on Monday, said Afolabi died while he was being rushed to the hospital after slipping in his bathroom.

Actress Obey Etok Chima who announced his demise via her Facebook page on Sunday said Uwazie died in the US after a second brain surgery.
A Nollywood sound engineer known simply as Techno Sound also died recently.
