Habeeb Okikiola, the Nigerian singer better known as Portable, has signed a new artiste to Zeh Nation, his record label.
Portable unveiled the fast-rising singer identified as Gospel Kanu in a recent Instagram post.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker described Kanu as Young Odumodu, who looks up to rapper Odumodublvck as his mentor.
During the unveiling, Portable asked Kanu to showcase his rap skills and encouraged the public to follow him on social media.
He also revealed that Kanu was among nine boys recently arrested by the Ogun state police at his bar.
“Do not regret. I have never regretted my actions. Do not be depressed about the place you just returned from. It is for your glory. You will never go there again. You will not go to prison again,” he added.
“You have now become popular. You are our Odumodu at Zeh Nation. He was among the nine boys.
“Please help me promote him. Please let us make him popular.”
Portable gained fame in December 2021 with his hit single ‘Zazoo Zeh,’ featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.
However, he has been in the news recently for controversial reasons, including a feud with Ogun state officials that led to his arrest and arraignment on a five-count charge, including assault.
The singer was declared wanted on February 18 but turned himself in the next day. He was later granted a N2 million bail.
After his bail, Portable reached out to Fuji musician Pasuma to sponsor his trip to Mecca for Hajj.
He said he wants to perform Hajj to thank God.
