Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has filed a N1 billion lawsuit against popular Nigerian musician Naira Marley.
Responding to the N500 million defamation lawsuit filed by Nigerian singer Naira Marley against her, Iyabo Ojo expressed her displeasure with the manner in which the legal action was brought to her attention in a statement on her Instagram page.
Recall that Naira Marley’s lawyers had demanded a public apology and N500 million in damages, citing an Instagram post by Ojo in September 2023 in which she allegedly accused Marley of engaging in “spiritual and physical dealings” with the late singer Mohbad and causing him “mental harm.”
Naira Marley claimed that the actress had spread false and harmful information about him.
In response, Iyabo Ojo filed a complaint against Naira Marley, alleging that he failed to personally or by mail serve her with the case, raising concerns about potential blackmail.
The actress demanded N1 billion from the singer for what she believes is intentional misinformation to the public.
