Nigerian actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande has issued a court notice to Gistlover, following reports by the controversial social media blog over her alleged affair with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Dakore on Tuesday demanded through her legal representatives that Gistlover pull down their viral defamatory publication and to apologize within the next 24 hours of receiving the court notice.
Chronicle NG reported that Dakore denied allegations of an affair with Akpabio and vowed to reward anyone with video or audio evidence with a sum of 5 million naira.
Dakore wrote, “It has come to my attention that a post featuring my likeness and image, accompanied by blatantly false and libelous claims, is circulating on social media, specifically via the handle “@Gistloverblog.” The post, which includes group of ladies, insinuates that I may have had an inappropriate relationship with the Senate President of the National Assembly of Nigeria.
“Let me be unequivocally clear: I categorically deny these baseless accusations. I have never been involved in any such relationship, nor have I ever met the Senate President in any capacity. These statements are entirely false, malicious, and defamatory.
“The spread of these fabrications has caused me significant distress and poses a potential threat to me, both personally and professionally.
“I want to emphasize that there is absolutely no truth to these allegations.
“I am pursuing all necessary legal actions to address this matter and ensure those responsible for spreading these defamatory statements are held accountable.
“I urge anyone who has encountered these statements to report and disregard them entirely, as they are completely devoid of any factual basis”, Dakore wrote.
Dakore’s court notice reads below:
