Mr. David Ubaha, a lone protester in Akwa Ibom State, has lamented the country’s high living costs, claiming that things are only getting worse following the nationwide #EndBadGovernance demonstration.

Ubaha, a 41-year-old farmer from the state’s Itu Local Government Area, staged a lone protest in Uyo, the state capital, prior to the #EndBadGovernance protest, in which he lamented the country’s economic hardship as a result of President Bola Tinubu’s removal of oil subsidies.

The Akwa Ibom farmer labelled Tinubu’s EndBadGovernance address as “empty,” saying it did not alleviate Nigerians’ pains.

“Things are getting worse in this country. The nationwide #EndBadgovernance protest has produced nothing; we are back to the worst situation never before experienced in this country.”

The lone demonstrator who claimed to have participated in the EndBadGovernance rally criticised the event.

He stated that because Tinubu had preemised to fix the naira and complete the refinery by December 2023, the demonstrators would have set him (Mr President) a two-month deadline to complete the refinery and then asked for his resignation.

“President Bola Tinubu promised to stabilise our naira and build the refinery in 2023, but we are now in 2024 and nothing has happened. The organisers of the EndBadGovernance protest would have given him a month’s ultimatum to build the refinery, and if he failed, they would have asked for his resignation,”  he said.
