Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused his successor, Uba Sani, of being behind the violent attack on him and other opposition figures in the state.
The incident occurred on Saturday during the inauguration of a transition committee jointly formed by opposition parties in Kaduna.
The event descended into chaos when suspected political thugs invaded the venue, assaulting participants and vandalizing property.
Speaking on Channels Television on Sunday, El-Rufai insisted that he has proof linking the Kaduna governor to the violence.
“I have evidence; Kaduna State Governor is behind Saturday’s attacks. I will submit evidence to the IGP and other authorities if they care to investigate,” he declared.
The former governor further criticized the country’s security system, alleging that law enforcement officers failed to act during the assault.
He said, “the policing system has collapsed in Nigeria,” claiming that police operatives were watching as the attacks unfolded.
