The Nigerian government has approved the establishment of the Nigerian Army University which will offer both academic and military training.

Here’s what we know about the Nigerian Army University
In June 2017, Nigerian Army met with National Universities Commission seeking approval of the Nigerian Army University.
On 11 April, 2018, the Federal Executive Council approved the establishment of Nigerian Army University.

The university is designed as a unique and specialised institution that would serve as solutions centre, especially to specific challenges facing the military and North East region.
It is also a hub for developing a Nigerian Industrial Military Complex.
The university will be located in the northest region of Nigeria, Biu, Borno state to be precise.
Accreditation of academic programmes at the university will begin following FEC’s approval

Whether the university will be listed in the Joint Admission Matriculation Board brochure.
When the university will admit its first set of students.
What courses are available to prospective students.
If a military guarantor will be required for prospective students.
Graduates will be co-opted into the military proper.
Will engage in external military activities across the continent and the world.
