The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Sunday the release of 3,921 outstanding 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results.
The Board In a statement, its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, announced a rescheduled examination for 24,535 candidates after it analysed the process and conduct of the previous examination in some centres where there were proofs of substantial non-compliance with its standards.
“The rescheduled candidates are to print their supplementary examination notification slip on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to ascertain their designated examination centres.
“This release brings the total results released to 1,883,350. The rescheduled examination, which is taking place on Saturday, 22nd June 2024, two weeks from now, is to give affected candidates adequate time to prepare for the exercise,” the statement noted.
It requested that candidates check their results by sending j to 55019 or 66019 to determine their status.
It went on to say that those who were cleared will receive their results, while those who were rescheduled would be informed that their appointment had been rescheduled.
Speaking on the Kwara State University diploma, the board stated, “Having held high-stake meetings with the principal officers of the Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies and the Kwara State University on the CAILS-KWASU diploma programme, the board has agreed to conduct a special registration exercise for the 3,633 prospective candidates who did not participate in the 2024 UTME, based on the assumption that they would be accommodated in the 2024 DE exercise.
“These candidates are, therefore, to register at any of the approved CBT centres in Kwara, Oyo and Osun states within the next week (ending on Monday, 10th June 2024) for the UTME.
“The 469 others among this category of UTME candidates who had already taken the 2024 UTME need not retake the examination. The one they have already taken suffices.”
The board’s concession was to ensure that, while maintaining standards, efforts were made to encourage and advance the aspirations of qualified and willing individuals.
The board stated that the affected CAILS-KWASU candidates would be able to write the UTME on the rescheduled June 22 examination dates, along with some 20,550 candidates whose results were still being investigated and 2,702 candidates whose fingers could not be verified and given the benefit of doubt to sit the 2024 UTME.
JAMB added, “The remaining 322 candidates have been migrated to the category of candidates under examination misconduct as a prima facie case has been established that those who had registered were not those who appeared for the examination.
“This notice does not concern candidates whose results have been released. Candidates with prima facie case(s) of examination misconduct would be further interrogated to establish their culpability, after which appropriate measures would be taken on them and announced.”
According to the statement, the 2024 Direct Entry registration period will now close on Monday, June 17, to accommodate the increased number of prospective DE candidates.
The board stated that it expanded registration points beyond the Professional Registration Centres in states with high demand.
According to the statement, the decision was made in response to repeated requests for an extension from stakeholders and authorities over the last month.
In the announcement, Benjamin named the following centres in the impacted states: Lagos State, JAMB PRC, Ojora Road, Ikoyi Lagos; JAMB PRC, Isheri Road, Ogba; ETC Nigeria; and JKK House, Ikorodu Road, Ilupeju.
