The Police have apologized to Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly called DJ Switch, over the fake news of her arrest by operatives of the Force in Lagos State.

Several news outfits, including Linda Ikeji Blog, reported that the celebrity DJ was apprehended for the assault of police officers and the obstruction of the operatives from carrying out their duties.

The DJ, who in a statement on her X page on Thursday refuted the claims, threatened legal action against the news outfits for circulating fake news.

Reacting to the news of her arrest, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, apologized for the “mixup.”

In a statement on his X page on Thursday, Hundeyin noted that DJ Commissioner Wysei was the one arrested by the police.

Hundeyin’s statement reads, “There is a mixup from our end. The arrested person is DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch.

“Apologies for all the inconvenience to a few media outfits like Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC that I gave confirmation this morning.

    “Apologies to DJ Switch too.”
