    Senator Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kogi state is the favourite to emerge winner in the November 11 election, a polling report has revealed.

    Polling agency, Falcon Alliance, revealed that 43.7 per cent of respondents noted that they will vote for Dino Melaye to succeed Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

    In Kogi, of the 2,613 respondents, 27.7 per cent said they would vote for Ahmed Usman-Ododo, the APC candidate, who has been described as a handpick of Bello. In contrast, the Social Democratic Party candidate, Murtala Ajaka got 14. 9 per cent of respondents vote.

    The undecided voters were 15 per cent.

    Dino Melaye has formed alliance with Labour Party in Kogi and is hoping to upset the APC.

    Falcon Alliance also polled in Imo and Bayelsa States. The incumbents Hope Uzodinma and Duoye Diri returned as favourites to retain their seats.

    In Imo State, of the 1,620 respondents, 28.7 per cent of respondents said they would vote for APC’s Uzodinma while 19.9 per cent of respondents said they would vote for Senator Athan Achonu of the Labour Party, with 4.8 per cent saying they would vote for PDP’s Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

    Of the respondents, 28.7% said they would vote for the APC candidate, 19.9% said they would vote for the LP candidate and only 4.8% said they would vote for the PDP candidate.

    Similarly, in Bayelsa, the incumbent Duoye Diri garnered the most favourable response. Of over 300 respondents selected, 77.8 per cent said they would vote for Diri while 14.1 per cent said they would vote for former Minister of Petroleum (State), Timipre Sylva.

    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled all three elections for November 11, noting that the decision is in line with Section 32(1) of the 2022 Electoral Act.
