The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has shared a cryptic social media post following a confrontation between Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and military personnel.
In a flyer posted on X platform on Tuesday, the DHQ stated: “IT IS AN HONOUR TO SERVE IN THE NIGERIAN MILITARY. UNSHAKEN. UNBENT. UNBROKEN.”
The post came hours after Wike was seen in viral clips engaging in a heated exchange with military officers at a disputed land site in Abuja.

According to Wike, officials from the Department of Development Control were enforcing his directive when they were chased away by armed soldiers allegedly acting on the orders of a retired senior officer.
“I was informed that the soldiers had chased them away, and I thought they were acting illegally,” Wike said. “Today, while I was in the office, I was called again that the military had taken over the place. I had to come myself to see things. It’s really unfortunate.”
The FCT minister was seen confronting a naval officer, demanding documentation for the ownership of the disputed land.
“Show me the documents you have. You have no documents. We cannot continue to act with such impunity,” Wike said.
The incident has sparked widespread debate on the balance between military authority and civilian governance in Nigeria.
On Tuesday, former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, urged Wike to apologise to the officer involved and to President Bola Tinubu for his “verbal assault.”
