The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal convening in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, has upheld Senator Ned Nwoko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the legitimate winner of the 25 February 2023 Delta North Senatorial Election.
The three-member Tribunal led by Justice Catherine Ogunsola dismissed Ken Kanmma’s Labour Party (LP) petition for lack of merit.
In a unanimous decision, the Tribunal ruled that the petitioner failed to establish his case, as he was unable to provide any relevant evidence to support the allegations of noncompliance contained in the petition.
In addition, the three-man panel rejected Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s All Progressive Congress (APC) petition against Nwoko. The petition was dismissed by the court and the petitioner was ordered to pay N500,000 in costs.
