Nigerian politician and publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, has taken a subtly dig at Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, as he remains in “exile.”
In a statement on X on Tuesday, Momodu sarcastically mentioned that Omokri is suffering from depression as a result of his continued exile from Nigeria.
His statement comes on the heels of Omokri’s remarks in an interview on TVC News where he mentioned that the politician is not qualified to criticise the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on the “state of the economy” in the interview, Omokri, while responding to questions on the criticism of the PDP chieftain against the economic policies of Tinubu, mentioned that Momodu is a graduate of Yoruba language who runs an “Owambe magazine,” and as such, he is not qualified to speak on economic issues.
Responding to Omokri’s remarks, the publisher, in his statement on Tuesday, subtly said Omokri is suffering from “depression” as a result of his continued exile from the country.
“My dear Aburo, Reno, I will forever treasure your kind words. I’ve lived in exile before and appreciate how tough it can be, no matter how wealthy you’re.
“At one point, I nearly fell into depression. Not many people can understand. Please, keep calm. Everything is going to be alright, by God’s grace.
“You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you unconditionally,” Momodu wrote.
