Cole Palmer has officially trademarked his iconic nickname ‘Cold Palmer’, sealing his transformation from football prodigy to commercial powerhouse.

The Chelsea and England midfielder successfully registered the term with the UK Intellectual Property Office, giving him exclusive rights to use it across a vast range of products from clothing, toys, and football boots to ice cream and even underwater vehicles.

The move means no one can now use ‘Cold Palmer’ for commercial purposes without his permission. It follows the 23-year-old’s earlier attempt to trademark the phrase, which was initially blocked by French vineyard Château Palmer.

To resolve the dispute, Palmer dropped any mention of wine from his filing,  though he retains rights to use the name on other alcoholic beverages, including spirits and liqueurs.

This latest trademark joins others registered by the midfielder, including his name, autograph, and even his signature goal celebration, a growing trend among top footballers like Kylian Mbappé, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who famously trademarked ‘CR7’ in 2019.

Palmer launched his image rights company in December 2024 after a breakout year that saw him score for England in the Euro 2024 final. Despite struggling with a groin injury this season, his star power continues to rise as he eyes a leading role at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada expected to be the most commercially lucrative in history.

With his branding now legally protected, ‘Cold Palmer’ isn’t just a nickname, it’s a business empire in the making.
