The ongoing Glo Festival of Joy promo brought elation to many Nigerians on Thursday, with a civil contractor, Ayobami Adejumo, emerging as the proud winner of a brand-new Toyota Prado SUV. The prize-presentation event took place at Gloworld, Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Ayobami Adejumo, an Osun State indigene residing in Lagos, expressed his disbelief and excitement upon receiving the keys to his new car from the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who graced the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.

“I still can’t believe it,” said Adejumo. “A call came from Globacom with the news, and it seemed too good to be true. I even doubted it at first, thinking it could be fraudsters. But I remembered the promo and how I joined when it was launched. When I got to the Gloworld office, the Glo officials were already expecting me. I thank Glo immensely for this prize. I will use the jeep personally; it will enhance my status and help me get more jobs as a civil engineering contractor.”

Other winners also shared in the joy. Bukola Olatunji, a resident of Ijebu-Ode, won a Keke Napep, while Ayodeji Olukunmi, a 33-year-old, received a generator, and Benue State native Daniel Eleh was awarded a sewing machine.

Olatunji, who had long participated in Glo promotions, said, “I have always been a faithful participant in various Glo promos and never lost hope. I promise to continue participating in all of Globacom’s promotions in the future.”

Olukunmi added, “It’s indeed a joyful period. Winning a brand-new generator means a lot to me. God bless Globacom.” Similarly, Eleh remarked, “I was shocked and surprised when I got the call. Glo has always been good to Nigerians.”

Deputy Governor Hamzat commended Globacom for its initiative, especially during challenging economic times. “The good thing is that this is happening at a difficult time in the country,” he said. “We must thank Glo for this and pray that next year, it will be even bigger. We would love the Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, to make it twice this size next year. May God continue to bless the company.”

Globacom’s Divisional Head, West, Lawrence Odediran, explained how subscribers could join the promo. “New and existing subscribers can participate by dialing *611# to opt in and by recharging (voice and data) during the promo period. New subscribers can also join by purchasing and registering a new SIM and dialing *611#,” he said.

The prize-presentation ceremony was attended by notable figures, including a representative of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Mrs. Ijeoma Bassey; Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Biodun Ogunleye; Deputy Majority Leader of Lagos House of Assembly, Honourable Adedamola Richard; Iyaloja of Sura Market, Madam Raliat Adebayo; and entertainment stars Broda Shaggi, Uche Jombo, and Adeolu Saga.

The “Festival of Joy” promo continues to create smiles nationwide as more prizes await lucky winners.
