Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford in a deal worth an initial £10 million, with the potential to rise to £15 million through add-ons.

The North London club had been monitoring the Danish international since the end of the season, aiming to strengthen their midfield depth.

Norgaard, who captained Brentford since 2023, now makes the move to the Emirates Stadium to join Mikel Arteta’s side.

While Arsenal have yet to disclose the full length of the contract, reports suggest the deal runs until the summer of 2028.

Reacting to the signing, manager Mikel Arteta said, “We’re delighted to welcome Christian to Arsenal. He is an international player with a wealth of experience of the Premier League. He has proven leadership skills and a strong character which will be invaluable to our squad.

“He is a strong midfielder with excellent tactical awareness and versatility. He also has physical presence and intelligence which will give us added depth and balance.

“Christian will bring a lot to the group both on and off the pitch, and we’re excited to start working with him in this next chapter of his career. We welcome Christian and his family to Arsenal.”

Norgaard began his senior career at Danish club Lyngby before joining Hamburg in 2012. He later played for Brøndby and Fiorentina before signing for Brentford in 2019.

Under former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, now managing Tottenham, Norgaard became a pivotal figure for the Bees.

The 30-year-old has earned 35 caps for Denmark and featured in major tournaments including EURO 2020, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and EURO 2024.
