Chioma Adeleke, the wife of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has spoken about the singer’s steadfast support for her goals.
Chioma, often known as Chef Chi, said this during an interview with Noire TV, which went viral on Saturday.
The couple, who had their traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024 following a private court ceremony in March 2023, are now planning their white wedding in Miami, United States.
Davido previously claimed that the ceremony would be a spectacular affair, with almost $3.7 million already spent on planning.
Chioma viewed her husband’s encouragement as compassionate and intentional for her personal development.
“David cares a lot about my dreams. I’ve faced a lot of challenges over time, but he would always ask me, ‘Chi, apart from all of this, what do you actually want to do?’
“Then we would have plans and have stuff coming out in the next few months. He really cares about my personal dreams,” she said.
Davido and Chioma, who have been together since university, have three children, including twins born in October 2023.
Their relationship has faced public scrutiny and personal tragedy, including the death of their first child, Ifeanyi, in 2022.
