Champions League-chasing Chelsea fought back from two goals down to snatch a dramatic stoppage-time victory over West Ham in a London derby at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Fernandez’s 92nd-minute winner sparked wild celebrations as Chelsea completed a stunning comeback after trailing 2-0 to goals from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.

New manager Liam Rosenior’s substitutes turned the game around, with half-time introductions Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella both scoring to draw Chelsea level.

It was a bitter blow for West Ham, who dominated the first half. Bowen’s in-swinging cross beat Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who failed to claim the ball as Pablo almost got a touch before it crossed the line for the opening goal.

The seventh-minute strike followed two earlier shots on target from new striker Taty Castellanos. West Ham doubled their lead when Summerville curled home from inside the box after a right-wing move involving Bowen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Chelsea struggled badly before the break, managing just one shot on target — Cole Palmer’s long-range free-kick. The hosts were booed off at half-time, prompting Rosenior to make three changes.

He withdrew Jorrel Hato, Benoit Badiashile and Alejandro Garnacho — all culpable in the first-half goals — and introduced Joao Pedro, Cucurella and Wesley Fofana.

After early second-half saves from Sanchez to deny Matheus Fernandes and Bowen, Chelsea seized control. Liam Delap went close before Moises Caicedo’s long-range effort was pushed away.

Chelsea pulled one back in the 57th minute when Fofana’s deep cross was headed in by Joao Pedro. Thirteen minutes later, Cucurella produced a diving header to equalise following Malo Gusto’s knock-down across goal.

With Stamford Bridge roaring, Chelsea pressed for a winner. Although West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo struck the post in the 86th minute, Fernandez sealed the comeback moments later, finishing Joao Pedro’s cross from close range.

Tempers flared after the final whistle, with Konstantinos Mavropanos sent off following a VAR review for his role in a post-match melee.

The victory lifts Chelsea above Manchester United into fourth place in the Premier League, while West Ham remain five points behind Nottingham Forest. United and Forest both play tomorrow and have a game in hand.
