…Consumers can purchase additional litres on credit
In a significant move to ease the financial burden on Nigerians during the festive season, Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre.
This development was revealed in a statement by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group.
The refinery, renowned as Africa’s first privately-owned oil refinery, had previously reduced the price of PMS to N970 per litre on November 24.
The new price cut is aimed at reducing transportation costs and bringing relief to Nigerians during the holiday period.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” said Chiejina.
In addition to the price reduction, the refinery has introduced an innovative credit scheme to further support consumers.
Chiejina announced that for every litre of PMS purchased on a cash basis, customers can purchase an additional litre on credit, secured by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to ensuring that Nigerians have access to premium quality petroleum products at competitive prices,” he added.
The Dangote Refinery reiterated its dedication to delivering high-quality, environmentally friendly petroleum products. The company emphasized that its operations signify the end of Nigeria’s dependence on substandard and blended imported products, which have posed health and environmental risks.
“We are proud to provide Nigerians with world-class petroleum products that are not only engine-friendly but also environmentally friendly. Our refinery’s operations ensure that Nigeria is no longer a dumping ground for inferior products,” Chiejina noted.
The Dangote Refinery, which boasts a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is fully capable of meeting Nigeria’s refined petroleum product demands and producing a surplus for export.
As Nigerians gear up for the holidays, the refinery expressed gratitude for their support and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing their quality of life through innovative and sustainable solutions.
