The Nigerian Air Force has discarded a fake NAF recruiting advertisement that was spreading on social media platforms in an effort to deceive candidates.
According to a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the “NAF is not recruiting” and advised candidates not to fall victim to scammers.
Gabkwet stated that the advertising was not issued by the Nigerian Air Force and reminded Nigerians that the military had graduated recruits from Basic Military Training Course 43/2022 on July 8.
Members of the public, he claims, would be appropriately informed anytime the Nigerian Air Force was recruiting.
“The public is reminded once more that recruitment and selection into the Nigerian Air Force are free and without remuneration.” Anyone who pays money in any disguise does so at their own risk.
“Furthermore, the Nigerian Air Force recruitment process is devoid of recruitment agents; thus, anyone claiming to be acting in this capacity on behalf of the NAF is a fraudster.”
“The Nigerian Air Force wishes to advise prospective applicants to promptly report anyone who solicits payments to the nearest Air Force Unit or the Nigeria Police Force,” he stated.
