Amid applause over the naira experiencing a huge appreciation at the official market, a social media influencer has stated that the All Progressive Congress, APC, does not deserve any praise.
In a statement on X on Saturday, Engr. Shaibu mentioned that the value of the naira to a “dollar was around N170 when the APC came into power” when ex-president Muhammadu Buhari came into office.
He added that “until they take it back to N170 or under, they don’t deserve any praise.”
Chronicle NG reports that according to data from the official trading portal of the FMDQ Exchange, which administers the Nigerian autonomous foreign exchange market, the naira increased by N88.23.
This marks a 7.16 percent increase over the previous trading session on Monday, April 8, when the exchange rate was N1,230.61 to the dollar before the Sallah vacation.
The overall daily turnover jumped to $281.34 million on Friday, up from $125.55 million on Monday, according to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) on Saturday.
