The governors of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) reportedly met at the Kebbi Government Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja on Monday evening following the postponement of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The caretaker chairman of APC and governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, on Monday announced the postponement of the February 26 national convention to March 26.
APC governors who were split over the decision met to either agree or counter the postponement of the APC national convention.
The emergency closed-door meeting was called as fears over the future of APC continues to heighten.
Some governors are believed to be furious and ready to pass a vote of no confidence on Governor Mai Mala Buni in preparation for the meeting with President Buhari on Tuesday, Feb 22nd, 2022.
Similarly, young stakeholders in the APC has slated a meeting at the Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday to also discuss the same matter.
“This is to inform all young stakeholders in the APC especially the leaders of all support groups that following the planned postponement of the APC national convention there will be an emergency meeting of all young stakeholders in the APC to take a firm position on the way forward,” a terse statement said.
