In a bid to promote transparency and openness, the presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) judgements to be delivered on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, will be transmitted live by the FCT Court of Appeal, and interested broadcast stations are encouraged to broadcast for public view.

Chronicle NG reports that both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are contesting INEC’s announcement of APC’s Bola Tinubu as president, claiming that the election was marred by corruption and that Tinubu was not qualified to run.

Umar M. Bangari, Chief Registrar, Court of Appeal, said this in a statement on Monday.

The Court of Appeal wishes to inform the general public that judgement in the following petitions before the Presidential Election Petition Court will be delivered on Wednesday, September 6, 2023:

    • CAPEPC/03/2023 between Mr. Peter Gregory Obi and Anor vs. Independent National Electoral Commission and 3 others

    • PEPT to deliver judgement on Atiku, Peter Obi petitions on Wednesday

    • CAPEPC/04/2023 between the Allied Peoples Movement vs. the Independent National Electoral Commission and 4 others

    • CAPEPC/OS/2023 between Abubakar Atiku and Anor v. Independent National Electoral Commission and 2 others

In a bid to promote transparency and openness, these judgements will be televised live by interested broadcast stations for the public to follow.

    Important Note:

Access to the court premises will be strictly controlled by accreditation.

Only accredited individuals, including counsel and representatives of political parties, will be granted access to the courtroom.

Interested members of the public are advised to watch proceedings on their television sets.

We appeal for the maximum cooperation of the general public to ensure a hitch-free exercise, please.
