    INEC has warned against announcing or publishing false election results

    The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the Osun state governorship as ‘inconclusive’.

    The electoral body made the decision following voting on 22 September which put APC’s Gboyega Oyetola and PDP’s Ademola Adeleke in a too tight to call lead.

    INEC says that a rerun will be held on a yet to be announced date.

    INEC noted that 3,498 total eligible voters where cancelled, adding that, a candidate will not be returned if the leading margin is less than the cancelled vote.

    PDP candidate Adeleke leads by just 353 votes.

    INEC Resident Commissioner, Prof. Joseph Adeola has declared the election inconclusive.
