Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing Bayelsa East Senatorial district in the 8th assembly is yet to account for N250 million constituency projects nominated in the 2017 budget.

Transparency platform, Tracka, has repeatedly asked the self-styled ‘Common Sense’ senator to account for projects he nominated in 2017 but the TV mogul turned politician has refused to answer.

In its latest bid to get Senator Murray-Bruce to account for the N250 million, Tracka secured an acknowledged copy letter from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Tracka noted that taxpayers money must be used judiciously, stressing that, “public funds must work for the people”.

” Dear Sen @benmurraybruce ,here is an acknowledged copy letter from the Ministry of Agriculture, we are requesting for the implementation status of the N250m projects you nominated into 2017 for Bayelsa East Senatorial district. Public funds must work for the people,” Tracka tweeted on Monday.

Tracka’s latest question has drawn reactions from Nigerians who are appalled by Murray-Bruce’s silence on the matter.

Theo Odunlami wrote, ” Dear Sir @benmurraybruce. You kept tweeting several common sense messages. One wonders what more common sense can you give us than account of your stewardship. How long can you ignore common sense question?”

Baba also waded in on the matter. “@benmurraybruce aka Senator Ben10, I guess this frequent calls by @TrackaNG is not common sense enough for you to respond accordingly. Just know that your constituents are waiting for you to start campaigning for re-election,” he tweeted.

Abu Bilal also urged the senator to answer the persistent question. “Sir, can you use your common sense to respond to our plead? Nigeria money does not belong to one person but rather to all of us,” he said.

Aiyebo Olusoji has this to say. ” I wonder why this man is still refusing to answer this simple question.”

King Henry was less diplomatic. “Legislooter, with looting constituency project funds, democracy is not in danger.”

As at press time, Senator Murray-Bruce had not replied Tracka.
