    Three notorious bandits killed in Katsina

    Men of the Nigeria Police force in Katsina state have neutralized three (3) bandits and recovered two (2) AK 47 rifles with fifteen (15) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition. 

    In a press statement by the Commissioner of police stated on Wednesday that the Area Commander, Dutsinma and team responded to a distress call, that bandits numbering over 50, on motorbikes, shooting sporadically with AK47 rifles attacked Unguwar Bera and Tashar Mangoro villages of Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state.

    The Commissioner praised the Area Commander and his team, who ambushed the bandits at a spot between Mara and Tashar Gajere villages of Danmusa LGA. The operation was a success.

    In the Press statement, the Commissioner said:

    “The Command has been recording tremendous successes in the ongoing onslaught against banditry in the state. The recent recovery of cache of arms and ammunition attests to this. The detail is as follows:

    “Death of three (3) notorious bandits and recovery of two (2) AK47 rifles with fifteen (15) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition on 02/02/2021 at about 21:21hrs, the Area Commander, Dutsinma and team responded to a distress call, that bandits numbering over fifty (50), on motorbikes, shooting sporadically with AK47 rifles attacked Unguwar Bera and Tashar Mangoro villages of Dutsinma LGA of Katsina state. The team laid ambush against the hoodlums at a spot between Mara and Tashar Gajere villages of Danmusa LGA.

    “Fortunately, the bandits were entrapped and the team had an upper hand, neutralized three (3) bandits and recovered two (2) AK47 rifles with fifteen (15) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition. Search parties are still combing the environs with a view of arresting injured bandits and/or recovering dead bodies and their operational weapons.
